Mentoring Available for Airshow Performers

Former U.S. National Intermediate Champion Randy Henderson is available for mentoring and aerobatic coaching. He particularly enjoys working with new and upcoming competition and airshow performers.

His Disclaimer: “I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL AEROBATIC CLUB’S COMPETITION! IAC.ORG. AGAIN, PLEASE GET SPIN TRAINING FROM A PROFESSIONAL! IT CERTAINLY SAVES LIVES, INCLUDING, I, Randy Henderson’s…MORE THAN ONCE!”

Texas T-Cart Airshows with both the Clipped Wing 1946 Taylorcraft and the 450 Stearman is living proof that the mentorship of the IAC Competition works for safety. Randy is in his 43rd year of Texas T-Cart Airshows, and he did not start performing airshows for years after his IAC competitions. In 1993, he buried 14 airshow performer friends and colleagues. “This is a fun but risky business of low-level aerobatics. As a long-time part of IAC, we petitioned the FAA for experienced performers to let us take over the Aerobatic Evaluation Program. I was proud to be a Charter Aerobatic Competition Evaluator, an ACE. In 1994, I buried only 4 performers, so the program works. With the goal of zero deaths, we are very careful to watch for all aspects of riskier performers.”

Randy’s advice to performers: “Y’all — you do not have to fly close to the ground to be very entertaining! I personally have proven that. Upright only down low!”
